The Role
We are inviting selected students (BA, MS) in Data Science to be part of one of the largest open-source initiatives in crypto and the blockchain space. You will gain valuable experience through cutting-edge financial engineering, complex maths, data science and extreme engineering and innovation.
This internship can be used for your 400 hours of industry experience. This is a 2-12 weeks paid internship to begin in the second week of December 2021. The role will take place in our Sydney George St. Office. Permanent job placements, competitive salaries, and cash competitions are at stake.
You will work closely with the Project L3 Atom—the world's first open crypto data initiative. By using advanced maths, data science, high performing computing, and clever engineering, we were able to solve one of the biggest problems in the crypto industry— recreating the L3 order book into its atomic structure in real-time, enabling a new generation of data analysis methodologies, quantitative finance, and algorithmic trading solutions. Project L3 Atom is the largest data innovation project in crypto to this date.

Our next big R&D involves building the world's first open-source quant research and HFT platform for centralised & decentralised crypto exchanges. We are building the early building blocks for web 3.0 and are extremely passionate about building open source tools to innovate. M2M, blockchain and crypto is the future. All of our proprietary tech will be released to the public for free under GDA Open License. Yes, no catch. GDA Fund is a 6 years-old leading crypto research, financial engineering & technology firm. We are a team of experienced traders, data scientists, financial analysts, and extreme programmers based out of Sydney and San Francisco. We built our entire company from zero to 9-figures in less than 5 years without any external funding and will continue to run like a startup.

The opportunity

You can put your data science and machine intelligence skills to the test, building data-driven systems (e.g., mining analyst); improving scientific research in data modelling, warehousing, data management.

This is a fantastic opportunity to showcase your skills, get to know others and receive insights about the blockchain industry. You will also have the chance to learn from industrial professionals.
All engagements are paid in hourly rates.

4). What is the difference between internship & academic professionals?
As an intern, you will work under senior professional supervision. Academic professionals will work independently, take on more responsibilities and will usually work full-time with longer-term engagement.
5). Is this a remote position?
We prefer face-to-face, but it can also be remote.
6). Is this a paid position?
Yes, rates will depend on your role and engagement.
7). Is this a full-time or part-time position?
We would prefer full-time but engagement is negotiable.
8). How long will the internship last?
This depends on the role and engagement, but will range from 2 weeks to 3 months.
9). Will I be trained?
Yes, you will be working under an industry professional supervisor who will help bring you up to speed on any work you are required to do.
10). Do I need prior knowledge and experience with blockchain?
Prior knowledge on the field is a big plus, but not mandatory.
11). Can I be hired permanently after my internship?
